The course aims to train health care personnel dedicated to cytology activities within an organized screening program, also in relation to new emerging technologies in cytopathology and new screening strategies.
It is therefore aimed at individuals interested in developing concrete professionalism in cytology screening in the field of cervical cancer prevention.
Specifically, the course aims to implement training aimed at:
- Train health area personnel with specific skills in cytopathology
- Responding to the institutional shortage of training of the figure of the "Cytologist" (National Oncology Commission Guidelines G.U. Suppl. No. 100, May 2, 2001)
- Cooperate with the National Oncology Plan for 2011-2013, which calls for the implementation of screening programs for cervical cancer
- Create professionalism in cytopathology in relation to new and emerging technologies
- Train readers specifically trained in reading cervical vaginal triage cytology preparations, relative to the National Prevention Plan 2014-2018, which calls for the transition by 2018 of all Italian screening programs from the Pap test to HPV testing as the primary test for women aged 30-35 years in a progressive and planned manner
